Dear Tibia player,
Thank you for your request.

I will try to explain you the problem of disconnections.
The internet is structured like the streets in the real world. You can enter them
when you go outside your house but not every street is able to lead you everywhere
at anytime. Sometimes individual roads are interrupted even all others are fine.
If you end up on such a road, you will face a traffic jam which is similar to lag
or a disconnect. To reach our game server you need to use many different streets
for a very long distance and these streets cannot be controlled by us nor by your
service provider. This is the nature of the internet. It is being improved
constantly but you will never be 100% safe.
Therefore, we try to implement safety features which will try to safe your
character in case of a disconnection, but this is not that simple. However, we
will try to improve this feature so this problems becomes less significant for you.

You can check your internet connection yourself. To do so please do the following
**while** you are experiencing a problem with your connection:

* Open a DOS box (to be found in Windows under START/All Programs/Accessories)
and enter
* tracert trace-eu.tibia.com for European game worlds and trace-usa.tibia.com
for game worlds located in the USA

You will now see a list of all the computers serving as connectors between our
server (last entry on the list) and your computer (first entry). There should be
some figures given behind each listed computer which indicate the amount of time
it takes for a single packet to reach this computer. That way you can find out
where and for how long your packets are delayed at the various internet nodes.

If you feel something is wrong, please copy and paste the tracert output into an
email and send it to us (you can copy and paste in a DOS box by clicking on the
small icon in the upper left corner of the window). Please do not forget to
include the date and your local time (e.g. August 2nd 1:00 A.M. CET) so we can
isolate the problem.
