I remember a thread about kat on /r/leagueoflegends. People were mainly talking about spellvamp/mpen kat builds (gunblade and haunting guise). Someone did the math, and i remember a max rank ult with 500 AP at level 18 healed somewhere around 150. In other words, dont get hextech. It is just straight up a bad item on kat. Every single one of her abilites, save e, is aoe. Meaning the spellvamp you get does 33%. Hextech is a bad item and should not be build on her. The way kat should be built is so you are getting as much possible AP you can and abusing her ult scaling. Last item would generally be GA, but can be switched out for some sort of other defensive item or haunting guise.
